I rma’ed a biostar MB waiting for the lucky day, searching everyday for the track record of the RMA. Finally a week later it’s there, just waiting to be sent to me. Excited as a kid getting candy from its mommy, I waited, then waited some more, checking the tracking record every moment. Day after day still nothing thinking today is the day; the worst thing is waiting for something and can’t get your hands on it, that was not the day saying to myself, time passed and passed waiting for that day. I was sent home early because of a storm, what did I see my package sitten on my door step, I picked up the wet package allowing the water to seep out of the contents before bringing it into the house, standing in the pouring rain thinking to myself what kind of idiot would leave a package clearing stating fragile in the rain. I want to pulverize the person that delivered that package; I’m waiting for my moment to strike all right. I need a good plan of attack, I did the unthinkable, found out who delivered my package got to know the person. One early morning not going to the bathroom I left to sabotage the deliver door step at least that’s what I planned but things changed when I got there. I pooped in the driver seat of his truck, it was a bad one too, I ate 4 cans of pork and beans and after ate ½ of a xlac pack, I thought I was going to poop my pants before I got there , laughing all the way home, now I waiting for the next moment to strike.

If this account is true (which I doubt),

1) Report the delivery person, they should not leave things out in the rain without suitable bag.

2) You could have let the board air-dry and it would likely be fine, but I wouldn't risk it, don't open yet and take a picture of wet package, and contact the delivery company and report it so Biostar can file a claim.

3) Beans aren't very nasty. Next time eat a couple quarts of tuna salad.

This is not a tale at all, it true I did report it, I did not pay to have special delivery or the extra charge for assurance so I took matters in my own hands.

Who was the carrier? Normally you'd have a certain value covered already, a refurb/replacement motherboard isn't valuable enough to exceed that.

If the shipping party uses a carrier that is allowed to leave packages outside unprotected, they are required to pack it in a waterproof manner. It is their obligation to pack appropriate for their shipment to arrive intact without any further fees from you unless you specifically requested an alternate shipping method they don't normally use, and accepted the responsibility for the potential consequences.

wouldn't the board have been shipped in one of those big a$$ static bags anyway? So it should have been dry and fine. I mean it was a motherboard, I can't really see a company tossing it in a box with a few packing peanuts to rub all over each other creating tons of static and frying the board in the process.

Yes it was in a static bag but the board was soaked as far as the poop part that is a story, I made that up to make a funny story out of a bad thing. I had 2 options for the rma, regular mail, or a paid special service I choose the mail route, thinking to save 15 dollars on the order.

to OP: you seem to need some help

But I also want to rant about poor RMA. I called Samsung about a faulty DVD/MP3 home theater system because the LCD didn't work on the unit.

The person I talked to was very helpful and said he would have one sent to the local UPS Store and I could take my faulty product there once the replacement arrived to them... So I waited 3 weeks and finally called them back. They said this type of exchange is only for LCD monitors.... I politely told them that is not what i was told and the new person I talked to said --- let me get you to my supervisor and she will have the power to fix this properly. so i'm thinking i'm getting 3 day air service or something because they sucked in the first place --- their mistake not mine.

The supervisor said that she could only authorize the standard exchange for the system which will take another 3-6 weeks... too bad I didn't think about Sh@tting in the RMA box... (J/k)

Just wanted to let the word out that Samsung sucked in this instance

So who's the bigger idiot? The guy that leaves a package out and it gets rained on or the guy that decides it would be a good idea to s*** on someone elses property?

Pretty obvious to me who the bigger idiot is...
