Hi folks. My system:

i7 990X @ 4.5GHz
12GB Patriot Viper Extreme DDR3 2000MHz @ 1866MHz
ASUS Rampage ExtremeIII latest BIOS version 1502
2 X XFX Radeon HD 7970
2 X OCZ Agility 3 120GB SATA III SSD
WD Black 1TB SATA III 7200RPM
Win 7 pro 64 bit
Rocket Raid 640

This should cover the relevant hardware/software but if I left something out you can check my public profile or ask.

I just bought the raid card and the second OCZ SSD. Currently, my OS is on one of the OCZ SSD's and the other is not connected. The onboard SATA III controller on this board is a single lane pci-e at 5GB/s so a single drive is bottlenecked and RAID will not work on the 2 SATA III ports. I want to increase my boot drive capacity as well as increase performance which is the reason for the upgrade.

The problem that I have is that with the rocket raid installed in either pci-e x 16 slot number 2 or my pci-e 4x slot, my computer restarts shortly after the windows 7 logo appears. If i remove the card my computer works just fine. Upon restarting, I have the option to boot windows normally or go to start up repair. If I boot normally, the same thing happens over and over again. Windows continues to restart shorlty after the windows logo appears on my screen. If I select start up repair, windows attempts to repair the problem but after 15 minutes I am told that windows cannot repair the issue.

I have a test bench with an ASUS Rampage motherboard, Q6600, 3GB RAM, Win 7 64 home. When I install the raid card on this machine, it boots normally so I know the card is good. I have used the pci-e x16 slot on my motherboard for a graphics card so i am sure that is not the problem. It appears to me as soon as windows starts to load the drivers the system crashes due to a conflict with the raid card but I have no idea what the problem is or how to figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
