ROG g751IY no uefi

Hey! I got above mentioned laptop a while ago, I've had no reason to go into UEFI but now when I wanted to check out some stuff I saw that the computer has BIOS and not uefi. I tried to launch the efi shell but it didn't work. I am kind of lost when it comes to this, my desktop launched into EFI after I installed a new mobo and never had to deal with it. I installed windows 8.1 and formatted the OS-drive to GPT (but also saw it was GPT from before). I don't have a USB-stick or a DVD but will try to get one if I need one. Can I install the efi shell somehow?

Not sure what you are exactly looking for, but dam sure what you see uefi that looks like a bios.

No I'm pretty sure it's not. I know what UEFI looks like (and I googled to see what UEFI looked like on the ROG laptops) and what I have atm is the old typ blue BIOS that you have to use arrows to move around it. I want to know how to get UEFI working. The options in it are very limited aswell, missing alot.

I'm very sorry, but you are right! It's a plain old bios, not uefi. But that's how it is. No upgrade to uefi as far as i can see.
