Question Rog strix 1080ti power

I recently got an rog strix 1080 ti gpu and the recommended power is 2x 8 pin but what i have is an 8 pin with a 6 pin jumping off do i use them both? The 6 pin fits in the 2nd 8 pin slot btw so i assume its ok

What is the make and model of your PSU? How old is the unit?

Thumb rule with your PSU, is that if your PSU lacks the necessary connectors for your devices you either have:
a| the wrong PSU for the job
or
b| the wrong components for your PSU.
