Hi everyone So I built a new PC in the last few months and I currently use 1 m.2 500gb and 3 HHD's 2 at 4gb and 1 at 6gb for storage but im looking to move away from the HHD's since I do alot of gaming and prefer to not have them installed on HHD's and just use those for Storage only.
On the Motherboards Manuel this is whats listed as the M.2 Slot Stats
I'd like to know if I'm understanding this correctly.
The top two slots ( the two closest to the CPU) have a direct connection to the cpu and will not limit my graphics card (inserted in the top PCIe x16 slot) in any way. As far as lanes go or will it drop my x16 to x8 in some way? or does this all only apply to the 3rd slot and the bottom PCIe x16 slot?
Im basically trying to figure out if having 3 m.2 will limit my graphics performance in any way or does that only limit the performance of the device that's only connected in the bottom PCIe slot and the top shouldn't be effect.
Total supports 3 x M.2 slots and 4 x SATA 6Gb/s ports*
AMD Ryzen™ 7000 Series Desktop Processors
M.2_1 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280(supports PCIe 5.0 x4 mode)
M.2_2 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280 (supports PCIe 4.0 x4 mode)
AMD B650 Chipset
M.2_3 slot (Key M), type 2242/2260/2280/22110 (supports PCIe 4.0 x4 mode)**
4 x SATA 6Gb/s port
*AMD RAID Xpert Technology supports both NVMe RAID 0/1/10 and SATA RAID 0/1/10.
** M.2_3 slot shares bandwidth with PCIe 4.0 x16 slot (supports x4 mode) When M.2_3 slot is operating in PCIe mode, M.2_3 will be disabled.
Thank you in advance
