Hi there,
I am desperate. I am trying to enable Gsync on my Laptop/Monitor via the usb type c port ( Supports DP) but I cang get it to work. I bought a dp to type c cable from amazon but it doesn't seem to be the correct one.
Do I need to update the firmware?
Do I need an active adapter ?
Please help
Thank you
Pp

Which BIOS version are you on currently? Have you manually installed all your drivers after sourcing them from Asus's support site? Which version of Windows 10 are you on? Lastly, mind sharing a link to the adapter as well as the monitor you're working with.

Thanks Lutfij for your questions.

I am on the bios version 307 2019/10/01 (which is the latest ).
I did manually installed all the drivers from the support site. *even if some of them did not seem to be having an .exe). I am now curious to know if there's should be some dedicated drivers for this type of port.
I am on windows 10 Pro x64 updated to the latest.
This is the cable that is not working:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XFG1YKT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

but I have another on the way :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LYD2Y19/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was checking the back of my laptop and I have noted that the Usb C type 3.2 port has got the video out sign on it should send video signal out .

This is the laptop specs page:
https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ROG-Strix-Hero-III/Tech-Specs/
and this is the monitor's:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/ali...8dw/apd/210-amsv/monitors-monitor-accessories

On the laptop's spec's page there's this info :
1 x Type C USB 3.2 (GEN2) support DP function
which I suppose should do the trick .
Thanks in advance for your help .

Hi all.
Solved it. I had to switch the display output to DP from HDMI. LOL I am such a noob.
Now I am trying to get the extra hz on my display that still goes at 120hz but the manufacturer claims that it can be overclock able to 144hz.
Do you have any idea?
Thanks ,
Pierpaolo
