ROG STRIX GL504 SCAR II VS Acer Nitro 5

Here is the thing , my friend is about to buy a new laptop and he thinks the rog is worth the 50% price increase eveb though its the same spec ( except the ram )
ROG-2000$
NITRO-1300$

ROG:
I7 8750H
GTX1060 6GB
1TB+256GB SSD
8X2 2400MHZ DDR4 RAM

Nitro:
I7 8750H
GTX1060 6GB
1TB+256GB SSD
8X1 2400 MHZ DDR4 RAM

Is it worth the brand recognition and all the " rog sync aura thing " , or should it be the nitro ?

Are you sure he is not looking at the SCAR II with the 1070? Typically that model retails for around 2k in the US.

If they both have 1060's the only difference I can see is the Strix has a 144hz panel. But with a 1060 that really does not matter as a 1060 cant push 144hz anyway.

Acer is a very good brand and makes good products. Not any different than Asus. He may want to look at the Acer Predator Helios 300. It will have similar specs. I have last years model and you can get it with a 7700hq, 1060, and SSD for around 1k.

The newegg price for the 1060 here in the US is $1500. Still a little overpriced if you ask me. I'd rather see a laptop with a 1060 a little closer to 1k.

Well yeah , i. Asia everything is overpriced , but not by that much , did i look at the wrong price ? Huh
