So, my girlfriend got an ROG Strix GL731G about two years ago to use primarily for digital art with a side of gaming. Ended up getting it new from Amazon with some sort of warranty from ROG good for one free repair, and that was unfortunately used by a younger sibling spilling drink down the keyboard. So, had some parts replaced, but has been working fine until now. It's had very little on it other than the Adobe Creative Suite, Steam, drawing tablet software, and her choice of games.
Today, upon turning on the laptop, and opening Google Chrome as normal, the computer was acting sluggish, before the screen artifacted and the system stopped responding. Unsure of what to do, it was powered down and restarted, where when attempting to boot windows, it bluescreened, and forced a restart.
Now, on any attempt to start the laptop, it enters an ROG flash screen reading "Preparing Automatic Repair", and infinitely loading for as long as it's been left. It does open to BIOS, but any attempt to change something results in the screen artifacting and requiring a restart, or it will attempt to launch, fail, reboot itself and get stuck back Preparing Automatic Repair indefinitely. I'm unsure of what to do, as I'm unfamiliar with performing diagnostic tests, and unsure of whether I'd even be able to with the computer crashing even in BIOS.
Doing some cursory forum searching, my assumption is a faulty GPU or Mobo, but I'm unsure of how to check, as I do not have access to replacement pieces for a laptop.
I'd love some help.
