I just purchased an Asus ROG STRIX X299-E GAMING motherboard and the Core i7-7820X Skylake-X 8-Core cpu and 16 GB of Corsair Vengence memory. 2X8GB.
I put the memory in the correct slots for a 6 or more core CPU configuration. Banks A1 and C1. One card in each bank. It's only recognizing the memory in A1 so only 8GB. If I move C1 over to B1 so both cards are on the same bank then it sees 16GB. It's like the other side isn't working. I can use the system like that but I'm afraid I'm losing performance with that configuration. Is there something in Bios to get the other bank working?
