ROG STRIX X470-I Storage Question

So I've tried searching online and even YouTube maybe I've missed it or not. But I'm in the process of picking out parts for a desktop computer i want to build.
Case - Lazer3D LZ7 Mini-ITX
MB - ASUS ROG STRIX X470-I Gaming Mini-ITX AM4 Motherboard
CPU - Ryzen 7 2700x 3.7GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-L12S
GPU - Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB Mini ITX OC Video Card
PSU - Corsair SF450
RAM - Corsair - Vengeance LED 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600MHz
Case Fan - Cryorig XF140
which leads me to my question/dilemma as far as my storage goes I was looking at using the Samsung - 970 Evo 250 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive on the underside port of the motherboard for the operating system and essential programs and a Samsung - 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive on the top m.2 slot attached to the audio card but from what I understand the underside port is PCIe only and wouldn't allow me to use the 250GB stick there.
Anyone know if it would work or what i could do to fix that? would be much appreciated.

One of the M.2 slots is PCIe only (x4), the other is SATA or PCIe.

The 970 EVO is PCIe. So yes, you could use 2x 970 EVO on that board.

Not sure where the audio card comes into the equation? Both M.2 slots are surface mounted to the PCB - one on top, just above the PCIe x16 slot, the other on the underside of the board.

As per the manual found here:

thanks i guess i wasn't looking hard enough. I was referring to the m.2 slot the sits above the audio card under the heat sink

the manual shows M.2_1 as the top slot and M.2_2 as the underside slot. It's annoying sometimes trying to find the right and accurate information. For example asus.com stats that you can use DDR4 3600MHz with the X470-I as long as you have a 2nd Gen Ryzen processor yet every site I've looked at i.e newegg, tigerdirect, pcpartpicker, even amazon say you can only use DDR4 3466MHz max
