Having an ASUS STRIX Z490 - E Gaming MOBO and an Asus Geforce GTX 1660 Super GPU. I wondered if the ASUS ROG-THOR- 850P PSU would be a good choice ? Corsair PSU calculater said I need at least an 580 watt PSU. But I always go over for future proofing. Has anyone any info about this PSU ??

It's a good choice but it's overkill. You would need more of a 550W unit if all you're going to be working with is a GTX1660 Super. If you want to future proof, get a 650W Golr or platinum rated unit and call it a day.

Rest of the specs to your build?

It's a Seasonic made unit and a very good one, but overpriced by the Asus ROG name. A good quality 650 would easily do the job with power to spare. Your money, your choice.
