Hello, i was just wondering if the Asus ROG Strix x370-f Gaming Motherboard will be compatible with a 2080 (Might be a weird question to ask, due to the 2080 being a very powerful card, and the x370 being a decent Motherboard)

and if so, what GFX card would you recommend with this Mobo?
Thanks

Solution
Funnily enough JaysTwoCents just released a video on that exact topic-long story short, at stock settings bottleneck wasn't bad-the difference will diminish further if you do overclock. Other factors that will affect the systems performance is the type of games played, and settings such as resolution/framerate.

I'm aware that there also will be bottlenecking, but will it also run with 16 gigs of DDR4 ram clocked at 3000Mhz, with a R7 2700 not OC?

Also another question, if there will be bottleneck, how much percent will there be? because im planning on upgrading to a 2080 from my current GFX card.
Also will it perform better than a 1060 6gb, even with the bottlenecking?
Thanks

As mentioned it will depend on the games you play along with the settings chosen. I urge you to check out Jay's video as it exactly demonstrates what you're asking. Bottom line though the bottleneck will be nothing to worry about, the 2080 will be running circles around your 1060

Thanks! I will watch the video soon.

I also have another question that isnt really related to this topic but when ever i stream my gaming monitor goes to 60 hz instead of staying a 144hz. This does frustrate me because its really hard to play on 60hz anymore.

Sorry for sparking this forum back up, but I have watched a video that has said that the 2080 cards have been 'dying' randomly after purchase. Should I wait until they fix this before buying the 2080? Thanks
