Question Roms on USB drive

Do i create a rom folder on my usb drive for my roms and connect the USB drive back to the Pi 4 playing on Lakka.
Do i first create a rom folder on the USB drive and then create sub folders inside and name them like Nitendo/ Sega and other names.
