Hey guys, I am not too knowledgeable in the area of building a computer so I was if anyone could give me advice on whether the following components are compatible and if they will last a while in terms of technology. The main reason I have chosen the parts is so I can play hopefully most games on max and for rendering CAD photos and videos. The parts I have chosen are:

  • Antec 1200 - $189
    Corsair TX-50 V2 ATX - $112
    Creative Inspire 2.1 Speakers - $42
    Kingston 8G (2x4G) 1600MHz - $89
    Benq GL2450HM 24"W - $175
    Seagate SATA3 2TB 7200RPM - $95
    Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H MB, Intel Z77 Chipset, Socket 1155, 4x DDR3 - $125
    Intel Core i5 3570 - $230
    eVGA PCIe GTX660Ti 2GB - $330

    Total Cost - $1387
Keyboards, mouse, and DVD-Drive I already own, thus will not need to purchase them. If needed all these parts were found of Umart - Milton, and if anyone could give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated, Thank You Heaps. :)

Cheers, Harry

I don't know too much about the 1150 platform, but by comparing the i5 3570 and the i5 4670 they seem exactly the same in regards to specifications, and the 1155 is cheaper so I thought it would be best to stick the 3rd gen.

Yeah sure, I'll fill in the details:

Approximate Purchase Date
ASAP as it would be good for before Uni starts

Budget
Budget for the whole would be best to keep it under $1400

System Usage
Gaming, Uni, Movies/Tv

Yes

All of it (Excluding DVD Drive, keyboard and mouse), as the computer I've got now is around 5 years old and quite temperamental in its old age.

No as I have a 3-User copy in my possession

I am ordering from Umart so preferably Umart.

Preferred City
Brisbane - Milton Shop

Intel for Processor and Nvidia for GPU just by personal preference.

Overclocking
Not right now, but mabye the GPU in the future

SLI or Crossfire
Most likely no, but once again - maybe in future to avoid falling behind

Additional Comments
None really, just a stable PC to last atleast 5 years.

Once again, thanks heaps :)
