Well, I am torn between the two, it would seem.

The Corsair appears to be the best 850w out there, great efficiency, reputable build quality, but the Rosewill is on sale. I have heard the good, the bad, and the ugly about Rosewill PSUs, and most of it was from Corsair fanboys, so I imagine it was biased. It is 150w stronger (Even though the extra power wouldn't be put into use for the foreseeable future), and looks a lot cooler. One of the good things I heard about it was it's build platform, which a few people thought was superior to the AX850 platform.

They are both at the $160-$170 range, because the Lightning is on sale. What do you guys think?

Thanks,

The difference between the Corsair HX and AX series is down to bare efficiency and reliability. Both are exceptionally powerful and efficient but the AX eeks it out as it's based on the slightly more powerful (or weaker, if you talk to certain people) design.

As the Corsair AX units are just slightly modified Seasonic X series units (which are some of the best out there); they are extremely efficient under all circumstances and are basically overspec'd 850w units which to anyone else would be a 1000watt unit.

In this case, since you have the money, you should buy the best unit at the price your willing to pay. Corsair AX units are exceptional and I would always choose a proven platform that's based on a spectacular and well reviewed line such as the Seasonic X series.

Hmmm, thanks guys. I actually did look at the Hale90 850w, and it got really great reviews. Not to mention, I am using a NZXT Phantom, but it is black :??: . Another quality I forgot to mention was cable length, seeing as the Phantom is a pretty large case. But I suppose if I went with the Hale90, it would be a near guarantee that the cables would reach. And yes, I know I could just get extensions, but I can never seem to find any that match colors :na: .
