does anyone know what the CPU 1 and 2 are used for on this unit.

You can use either cable. The 8 pin is an EPS12V connector. The 4+4 pin is 2 x ATX12V connectors that together form an EPS12V connector

I have the 20+4 power connector connected to the motherboard, both my my harddrives ssd and 7200rpm harddrive will be connected sata to the board and sata power and I will do the same for both dvd and blueray drives.Is this correct
