router and modem are on 2 different networks

Comcast just gave us a new modem and it is on a different network from my router which has been in place for awhile. Will having 2 networks slow down my internet connection? It seems to have done so but maybe its just comcast

It shouldn't have two networks. Do you mean you see both WiFi SSIDs (names) on phones and laptops? That should be OK, and you shouldn't see any slowdown.
