Do any of you guys use a fan to cool your router and/or modem? I have one small fan cooling both router and modem. Just wondering if anyone else has done the same. Figured I'd rather replace a small fan that burns out as opposed to a router and/or modem. Does your components get warm enough to justify external cooling?

Most devices are designed to operate in a fairly wide range of temps you would see indoors. You need to check the specs. As long as your room temp is within that range it should not need additional cooling. I know most will run perfectly fine in rooms that would be extremely uncomfortable to work in.

Agree with bill001g.

Another thought to consider is that the fan can be blowing in extra dust and debris: hair, lint, dust, paper scraps, small insects, etc.

Especially into internal corners or other locations where the air currents swirl, slow, and deposit debris - much like leaves in the yard.

The electronics get coated with stuff and, over time, will get hotter. Sort of self-defeating.....

Look inside a desktop sometime - especially if it is on the floor as many are.

Yeah, you know, I only think about the pc's I build which have great filtration and cooling. Guess I will kill the fan but just keep an eye on the temps the first few days just to be sure.
