Question Router and modem seem to be out of sync

I have a TP Link TC-7610 modem and a Belkin N450DB wireless router.

Intermittently, I will lose internet access while retaining access to the network (on both wired and wireless devices). After a loss of internet access, if I log in to the router dashboard, it seems to think everything is fine. Power cycling just the router doesn't solve the problem, but does allow the router to realize it can't talk to the ISP (Charter). The LEDs on the modem indicate that it still has an internet connection. Power cycling both the modem and the router solves the access problem, at least for the time being.

This can occur anywhere from a few times a day to once every few days. I had the same set up in my old place, though I had a different ISP (Cox), and did not have any issues there.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing the problem?

The local network should keep working (wired and wireless) if the problem is your ISP or the modem, the users on the network just cannot reach the Internet. So yes, it sounds like your modem or ISP connection are the most likely issues.

Agreed, but the weird part is that the router seems to think there's still an internet connection, and the modem lights indicate an internet connection, but there is no connection all the way through. I'll try calling the ISP.

Thanks for taking the time to weigh in.
