Router and PC sharing network as siblings, not parent/child

I have a modem connected to an Ethernet switch. One cable runs out of my Ethernet switch to a wireless router. Another cable runs out of the Ethernet Switch to my PC. For some reason, I can only get internet of one or the other. If my PC links up and has the internet feed. My wireless router doesn't, and vice versa. I've changed the IP address on my router, no luck. Please help.

You connect the modem to the WAN port of the router, then the computer to one of the LAN ports.
