I want extend the range of my network. Primary router is ASUS RT-66U, secondary router D-link Dir-600L. What are the steps I should follow?

Select bridge mode in your modem setup on the modem you want as repeater and select wifi, select correct network and enter password.
Some modems only allow this to work via Ethernet. Some modems only allow you to repeat the connection with weak security like wpa.
I am unfamiliar with your modem.

The device must have a special mode to run as a repeater and the dlink 600 does not. Running bridge mode means it runs as a AP which is not the same thing.

You will have to get very ambitious if you want to use that device. It is on the list of supported dd-wrt firmware devices. You need to dig around and find a firmware image that will work. This is not a beginner thing if you are not very careful you can kill your router or at least make it a massive pain to get running with the correct firmware again. Follow the instructions exactly.

DD-WRT has a couple of repeater modes likely you want WDS but you can try others.

Any repeater is not a recommended thing to do. It does extend the range but it greatly degrades the quality of the signal so your maximum speed is cut significantly. Pretty much only only do this when a poor quality signal is better than no signal at all.

D-link Dir-600L doesn't have bridge option. Is there any possibility to make it as wireless switch?

That's what my exact thinking., DD-WRT doesn't specify D-link 600L B in their list..

I see dlink is being jerks again and keeping more or less the same model number but changing the internal parts. This is always a huge issue when you look for firmware. I really wish they would just change the number rather than adding letter or worse revision numbers.
