I am facing an issue with my router recently. The ATM VC status setting (underlined in red in the above picture) changes to *deactivated* occasionally and every time I start the modem. I called BSNL (my ISP) customer support and they have no solution.

I am currently turning it to *activated* manually every time the status changes to *deactivated*.

  • I am using a very strong password for the modem since I bought it three months ago.
I have hard reset the modem already and the setting still changes automatically (twice or thrice in a day).
    The model is - DSLW200
This model has no firmware updates at the moment.

Help!

Solution
The phone company should be able to fix this unless it is a hardware issue with the router. This is all part of the ATM signalling that the phone company uses that DSL is based on. I forget what this parm actually does, ATM is not used for much other than DSL now days. It may be trying to negotiate a different kind of ATM connection.
