Router behind brick wall. Would a powerline adapter help?

The router in my parent's home is in a "closet" like space where it is surrounded by brick walls and a wooden door with a glass pane. The brick walls definitely degrade the signal, but that is the only place we can get our ethernet cable (it's satellite internet and the ethernet runs down a chimney from the roof.) Would using a powerline adapter and moving the router to the living room help?

In more simply terms, would the degradation caused by powerline be less than the Wifi degradation that occurs through brick walls?

It would be powerline > lan cable to router > wifi to devices (smartphones and tablets mostly.) I've been reading that powerline suffers when there's interference from other electrical devices, so I think this might not be ideal as the electricity in this country is not very stable to begin with.

could you extend that cable from satellitte so you could put router in a open area in the home . for the wireless all appliance that use this in the home will interfer with the signal .

Extending the cable from the satellite is not really an option.

Buy the highest speed rated powerline adapters you can and get them from a store that provides a customer friendly return policy in case they don't work for your particular situation. Adapters with wifi access points built in are worth a try.

Should work better, but be prepared to return it if it doesn't. And don't tell me you are in Lebanon with no local retail outlet and people steal you parcels if shipping.
