As the title states ethernet speed is capped at 100mbps for all LANs. There is no option to change it, also the router is the one installed by the service provider. Model is Huwaei HG8245X6-10. Do i need to buy a better router?

huawei likes to lock their documentation behind paywalls. From what I can tell there is only 1 ethernet port on the router.

Do you plug a pc directly into the router or do you have a switch or something.
The TV is plugged directly on the router which is also capped at 100mbps

MiWorkstation is plugged on the wall socket of my room (house CAt6 wiring).
There is also another device from where all the ethernet wires of the house wiring run from

I would not be surprised if a tv only has a 100mbps ethernet port they don't need faster.

What happens if you plug a actual pc directly into the router.

You either have something like a switch that is limited to 100mbps ports or you have a bad cable someplace.

You need to try to eliminate things. When you have multiple things in the path it is complex to say which might cause the issue.

You are correct, i connected my laptop directly to the router on both LAN1 and LAN4 and both gave NegotiationRate: 1000mbps

so it must be the TP-LINK switch

That will work fine. I like metal cases better for no real good reason.

Partially the selling of "fast" internet is a scam. The ISP know that most people could easily get by with 100mbps. They make all their money by selling the same bandwidth to lots of people. The fiber itself likely is 5gbit or even less. They might connect 100 houses to the same fiber. If everyone actually used 1gbit they would need 100gbit of bandwidth but because they know that people might only use 1gbit for very short times when they download say a big game they can pretend everyone has 1gbit.

It depends on your house but for most people even 100mbps is more than they will use. Something like 4k netflix uses only 30mbps. So you could run mulitple of those at the same time and have games running and web surfing and not use 100mbps.

People think that a bigger number somehow makes their internet "better?". The only person it really helps is someone who is uploading and downloading huge files all the time. This is a very rare use case.
