router down speed compared to modem-router

hi, i had a modem router from my wi fi company, and i had like 9mb/s of download, now i connected a router for open port, and i am only reciving 2mb/s , what can i do ? both are 5ghz line, and in both i am the only connected

Start by posting a lot more information for an informed answer -- like what model modem and router and what kind of ISP (DSL or cable), and why do you have a modem/router attached to a modem? Thanks
