Router keeps freezing

Hi guys, I have a linksys x1000 still kinda new that keeps freezing every few hours, what would happen is I would lose internet connectivity and then I cant even access the router I have to go and reset it, any ideas? I have the latest firmware for it and have already done a factory data reset

There are a number of people that are complaining on the Linksys support forum about that product. Maybe an overheating problem. I saw one thread where the guy put some large rubber feet under the unit to get better airflow. Also drilled a bunch of holes in the top

hmmm could be that, it is rather hot where the router is located

Router is low end model and not recommended for multiple connections or high bandwidth usage, as the cpu overloads and gets hot.

Switching to non-stock firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato can help.
