Router or laptop drops connection (Nor sure which)

For the past few months my Asus windows laptop will randomly lose its internet access, it will still be connected to my network but have no internet access. I can fix this by disconnecting and reconnecting to my network. My roommates windows laptop has also had the same issue. The weird thing is my phone and Mac never lose their internet. I am not sure how to figure out if its my routers fault (an Asus RT-AC68R) or my laptops fault. Any help is much appreciated.

Edit: I am at college surrounded by quite a few other networks and noticed that the two devices that never get dropped are on the 5Ghz connection while my windows laptop is on the 2.4Ghz connection, could the issue be interference from other connections? Not sure how interference would manifest itself if it was occurring.

If other wireless devices remain connected whilst another disconnects, then the problem isn't with the router. The first thing to do is make sure the drivers for the WLAN card are up to date.
