Question Router: PPPoE - unable to login with my ID, but works with someone else's

Little bit of background before we get to the main issue:
I have a rather old dlink router (2015), still working fine

issue:
thought my PPPoE login still works, but there is not internet connection on it. as per the ISP, its a router issue mostly cause its old. They have provided a diff. PPPoE id, and i'm able to connect to it using the same router and it works fine with internet connection

questions:
is this something a router can cause, since i don't think that's the case
i don't have a diff. router to test it on

or can it be that there is some restrictions on the PPPoE ID from ISP end

as for my subscriptions, it good for another month

I think this is an issue to work with your ISP. Your router doesn't know the difference between your login and a different login.
