Hi everyone.

My router is seemingly randomly cutting out from time to time.
What happens is that the internet will stop working, and the yellow symbol will appear over the "network"-icon in the bottom right corner. My internet is connected to my computer with a cable. I know it is not just the ethernet-cable being weird, as it also refuses to load pages on wi-fi.
I have contacted my internet provider, and they looked into it. Apparently, my router has a 'switch', which is what disables the internet. According to them, they have nothing to do with the problem, and it is my router acting up.
I figured I'd try to find out if it was anything else, e.g. my network card, so I tried disabling the internet on my computer and turning it on again. It did not work, so for the time being the only thing I've found that fixes the problem is unplugging the router and plugging it in again (no waiting 30 seconds, just quickly plug out - plug in). The internet will return in <45 seconds. If I don't do this, it can be as long as 30 minutes before it returns on itself.
The router is a D-Link DIR-809.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
does the same thing happen when the computer is connected directly to the modem?
if the system is working fine connected to the modem, the problem is with the router.
Have you tried a new power supply for the router. you can buy a multi voltage power adapter (wall wart) that will have the ends/tips and voltage settings to run the unit.
It has been my experience that power issues usually rear their heads in this way
