Router Software for PC

So I have a perfectly good and fast router, but ehh.

I saw some really cool software out there on the internet called pfsense. It allows you to load a routing OS on to your old computer.

I could just use my old router, but, I like to screw around with things. Are there any routing softwares for the PC that don't require that you install a new OS? Or run on windows?

pfsense IS an OS. Linux, to be exact
You could mess around with a different Linux variant, which will do the same thing.

Two of the best are IPCop and Smoothwall. Both are Linux based, and free. Can't go wrong with either. I myself use IPCop.

Yup. I've used both, as well as untangle.
