Rs4000.please suggest some router with this feature

Word of advice, 50k download speeds can be averted by using wifi hotspots :) I know since I went through India for a visit and if all else fails, just download selectively that way you don't have crud on your machine.

2nd word of advice, marketing can sometimes make a product look like gold when its actually plastic coated in gold :) so just do some reading around 😉

& You're welcome - just trying to help out!
You did state that you will be using torrents in conjunction with your router. You've opened a similar thread which was deleted as it was the same as above albeit it contained "torrent" in the post.

So as asked in the previous thread, what are you using torrents for? i.e what content are you downloading through torrents?

you people asked me the same question in previous thread
but let me tell you that i use torrent to download non copyrighted stuff to be more precise like last time i used it to download cristiano ronaldo's wallpapers

You can download his wallpapers off a Google image search and forgo torrents. Furthermore downloading wallpapers doesn't exactly pile up your utility bills, last time I checked...

To answer the question about your router, the USB download feature on most routers are advertised to work but in reality the are a marketing policy to sell their units with added bells and whistles.

I own the Asus RT N-56U and although it has a plethora of features, I got it mainly for its QoS within its suite. The "download torrents on a USB/external USB drive" is a broken function and it has a couple of well documented issues where the router acts up tot eh point where the devs at Asus also had to exclude it from their driver/software suite. The similar issue is found on other routers from other known brands. The USB port is best used for hooking up a printer to share printing duties.

P.S: your above posted link doesn't work.

thanks for your answer about the router

furthermore when you live in a country like india and get pathetic download speed of 50 kBps downloading 50-100 hd wallpapers will take 2 hours and the best option you are left with is using torrent downloads.

can you also tell me which brands to go for or models to consider for budget of maximum 4000 (65$ approx)

A router can do a lot of things in this day and age. They can used to connect a removable media to act as a storage device for files you can share to people around the wifi hotspot i.e crib, manage the speed and quality of the connection to the clients in your hotspot area, control site access(useful for children) , connect a printer to it so you no longer need to run tonnes of cables to each computer or forgo the old serial cable for printers...also doesn't require you to dedicate a machine for the printer in order to print.

I don't know what the taxes and shipping rates are in India so I can't exactly refer a router for you in that price bracket. What would help is if you could ask yourself what you're looking for? This will help narrow down the vast range of devices(and crap) on the market. It would also help more if you could provide a link to where you plan to purchase it off of otherwise I'm flying blind here.
