Hey Guys,
There is no reason, just a problem needing solving
The setup (trying to keep it simple)
- the internet
- the router
- laptop/connected via wireless
Ipconfig is dhcp - 192.168.173.254/24
Sharing connection with;
- loopback virtual eth adapter
Static ip 192.168.16.1
255.255.255.0
- VM set up, external switch using the above v eth adapter
Static ip 192.168.16.10
255.255.255.0
192.168.16.1 gw
From VM i can reach the internet, set up routes so can reach the router and the laptop, and obviously can reach the v eth 192.168.16.1 as is gw
Have done trace routes all good arp and route tables look good
On my "host" - the laptop, using wireless adapter.. cannot reach 192.168.16.10 (the vm) and i cant find out where my routes are wrong, in this set up as its all virtualised the route tables work to create the "physical" connection
Yewww lets fix this
