HI,

i want to install Linux ( fedora from a bootable USB disk) on an intel SSD PEKKW256G7 M2 card, but the installer does not detect this card during installation.

I belief that when i change the setting RTS WITH OPTANE to AHCI in the BIOS, the linux installer detects the card.

My question is:
Does this affect on any way the installation of Windows?
I must maintain the option to boot up to windows.

If it works, i want to replace the actual SSD to a new and faster one.

It probably will affect Windows booting. When Windows is installed whatever mode you have it set to is what driver and how it installs. For example on older systems if you set it to ATA, installed Windows and then switched to AHCI and tried to boot Windows would fail to boot as it was installed with ATA. You can change the boot mode in WIndows and then switch it for those cases but not sure on a NVMe based SSD.

AHCI was designed mainly for SATA based drives. I would see if you can find a driver for the Intel SSD to load into the Linux installer to run it the same way as Windows was setup.
