[SOLVED] RTL8812AU drivers without wifi

Hi there,
So i want to run linux on my PC (currently running Windows on another drive). I managed to install it but for some reason my wireless adapter does not seem to be picked up by Ubuntu.
I have read threads about downloading drivers using terminal, but my PC is not connected via ethernet.

Is there a way to install the necessary drivers without using WIFI

Why not hooking up your phone as hotspot and downloading it? Since lan cable is not your option?

Yes you will need access to the internet to download and install.

That is a realtek card the 4.2.2 version does not compile correctlly on Ubuntu 18.04. Instead follow this thread below.

In your case 8812 is correct just not the 4.2.2 The poster on the thread used the wrong driver for her or his card.

Once you can open a terminal and type

sudo apt install rtl8812au-dkms
