Hey guys!
I have an old pc with a GTX 770 2GB so i wanted to either upgrade the whole pc or at least the GPU. The graphic cards prices have been out of hands for the last 2 years but i can get a RTX 2060 12GB for 370 canadian. Is this a good deal or there is better for the same price tags nowadays? If so, what would be your suggestions?

P.S. I don't want to spend 500-600$ on a GPU and i don't intend on running the latest games on ultra high settings.

Thanks!

Solution
This is probably the cheapest combo, that I would recommend.

I would say that isn't a great deal, when you can get a bit faster RX 6600, for less. Yea the 2060 has mover vram, being the 12gb variant, but that card cannot fully utilize it, to begin with.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! Really appreciated. Would that work on a 600W PSU?

Thanks a lot for this, really appreciated!
I just noticed the RX6600 is PCI Express 4.0. Since i run an old MSI Z87-G45 motherboard running PCI Express 3.0 i think, im guessing i'll have to switch motherboard and CPU too?

PCI-E is backwards compatible, so it should work. Though I would recommend upgrading the CPU, board, and ram, to something more modern. Games are only going to get more CPU intensive. Keep in mind that next gen AMD is late September, and I believe Intel is in October, so you might want to wait, to either get the new shiny stuff, or catch a good deal on current platforms.

Ok thanks a lot!
Forgot to mention, the CPU is a i5-4670k. No idea if the processor survived the test of time well or got left behind hard.
For the Rams, i got 32GB of G.Skill Ripjaws DDR 3 1600 i think it was. This probably fell off hard.

In AAA modern titles, 4c/4t i5's are not enough. 32gb is still a good amount of ram, but tech has moved on, and DDR4 is the common standard, with DDR5 having been recently released.
Ok! Kind of tight on the budget for now so i might go for the RX6600 + PSU then the rest later when i get more money.
Was there an alternative in the same quality/price range for the PSU you mentioned earlier? (the evga gold). I wanted to buy it but Newegg charges 44$+ for the shipping (when usually it's like 6$) and the other sites are backordered. What would be your suggestion considering in the future i will most likely update the motherboard / cpu / ram?

Also from your anticipation of things, should i buy the GPU right now, or the ethereum mining coming pretty soon should make most GPU drop even more than they already are?

The common agreement on the internet seems to be that even if the ethereum merge will indeed occur it will not affect prices of cheaper GPUs much. High end GPU prices may fall even more but it will mostly affect models with 500+ $ price. Of course this may in effect put some pressure on lower priced models too but I would not expect this to cause great change. That said if you can wait a bit more you probably should.

Hey guys.

Would this Power Supply work for a PC build with an RX 6600 Mech X2 8GB with an old i5-4670k and Z87-G45 motherboard that i will later upgrade to probably a i5-12400 and a new motherboard and ram once the budget allows it? Or is there much better options in this price range?

Thanks guys!
