Solution
so i’d personally get better fps with the rtx 2060 2700 combo despite the resolution ?

What I am saying is if gaming at high resolution + max settings you are likely to get better FPS with the stronger GPU. That means if you are playing on a screen that is at say 2560 x 1440 pixels (1440p / '2K').

If however you have a high refresh rate, 1080p screen (e.g. a 1920 x 1080 pixes with 144hz or more refresh rate), the CPU will be more important as the 2700 won't be able to push high enough frame rates in many games to hit 144hz, even with reduced settings so you would be better off with the 3600 and the 1660 Super.

Honestly it depends... the main questions are:

1: What resolution are you playing at?
2: What refresh rate are you targeting?
3: What type of games will you be playing mainly?

For example:

If you are playing at higher resolutions (e.g. 1440p or 4k) and you are looking at 60+ fps target, then you would be better getting more gpu power - the 2700 + 2060 combo would typically be your best options.

If however you want to play 1080p high refresh rate, and you are after 'competitive' frame rates in games like CS:GO and so on, then you would be better off with more cpu grunt so the 3600 + 1660 Super would give better results.
