Just looking through benchmarks and on average we see 5-10 FPS difference (all over 100 FPS ) on comparison benchmarks. With RGX 2070 now discountinued being sold at a 50 dollar on average higher cost then the the 2060 SUPER, do you think the difference is worth the money.

I personally chose the 2060 SUPER, the 50 dollar delta didn't appear appealing to me for what I saw coming down to a 1-3 % increase in Frames. Especially if you plan on staying in the 1080P world.

What are your thoughts?

Solution
If i was you id still get a 2070 because im sure you would want a reliable card that could last years and have room for 1440p60fps

Yeah, but to be fair I've heard many people say "well if you like 1080p..." but I had a 1070 and a lot of people said that was good for beyond 1080 games. In most cases I saw some issues even at 1080p full settings for my 1070. Most benchmarks put the 2060 super and 2070 within 4-10 FPS. I'd also say that could be said for 2060 to 2060 standard in some cases. I say from the benchmarks I saw the 2070 may take a hit at higher resolutions as well.

I dont think a 2070 would ever be a bad buy. But I think at that tier range, the variance is to small to justify much of a price difference. Especially at the lower U-HD settings. Not to mention those 2070 standards that are in the mid 500 price range. (still haven't dropped in price oddly enough)

That can change I suppose above 1440P but, that for any gamer will require even more investment with a monitor that can support it. So your looking at a total of 1000 dollar investment at least. For those for it I say great, but those looking to save money I say your not really missing much going "down a step" and I use that term loosely.

Its cool to see the different opinions on people. Benchmarks are clear, there are differences between the chipsets. But what isn't measurable always, are peoples values in those measurements.

Yeah I have a hard time justifying over 30 dollars to push up. It becomes a conversation of how much in dollar amounts is each frame worth ?
is 10 frames extra a second worth 50 dollars?

Did anyone do that currency exchange rate ;P

In most cases most 2070's are still over 470 and a good portion of 2060s are in the 399 - 479 range. With some odd outliers. I do realize most benchmarks appear to take the standard founder editions of these cards into account and not the OC cards majority of people pick up.
