so i am just about to buy a rtx 2060 super and saw video's and my question is can i just power this gpu with a 8pin or will i need additional power people say i can do it on 8pin but in videos i see people using the other power as well as the 8 pin

It varies by brand and their pcb architecture. Look at lots of pictures on amazon and newegg for the EXACT SPECIFIC card you want to buy. Make sure you have the necessary power plugs on your psu, pci-e power adapters are NOT recommended.
