Question RTX 2060 vs 2070

Hey guys, i currently use GTX 1060 6gb and also have around $550. The price on my country for 2060 is $500 whereas 2070 is $850.

Some info: i only play in 1080p 144hz, i use i5-8600k, 16gb of ram.

Should i get the 2060 or save for 2-3months to get 2070?

I mean, the 1060 6GB is no slouch even with today's games, so you can most definitely wait and get the 2070.

The rule of thumb is: if you can wait, then wait for the better purchase (be it* save money or for new releases).

I totally agree with the above!

For OP:
There is no reason to upgrade to 2060 as it won't be "huge" upgrade, while the 2070 is more serious upgrade. Keep in mind that the price in 2-3 months most probably will be lower so you will get a better card with a better price as well!

If it was me i'd save for the 2070 especially with 144hz monitor. If you are impatient and want an upgrade now than get the 2060.
Make sure you have enough PCI E cables to power it ofcourse. From memory the 2070 will use an extra 6 pin.

You should wait until 7 july for the new amd navi gpu. The top navi gpu will be identical or a bit better than a rtx 2070 as they shown at computex and probably cheaper. The performace between 2060 and 2070 is not so big (average 10 fps in most games especially if you overclock 2060). But the price difference as you mentioned is big. I have 1070ti (same performance as 2060) and i am really happy for 1080p 144hz gaming. If you want the gpu now i would go with 2060.
