RTX 2070 Performance

I’ve had an rtx 2070 now for about a month and I know that I’m not getting its full potential but I don’t know why. I don’t have any previous gpu drivers as I did a completely new windows installation and I have the latest drivers. Any guidance would be much apprecaited

P.s I know it’s not at its best because it’s getting near enough the same frame rate as my rx 480 8GB in nearly every game.

A quad core cpu matched with a 2070 at 1080p, you are going to be cpu bound in many modern games. Quad core even a strong overclocker like the 6600k is minimum recommended these days, it’s entry level and similar to the latest i3 8350k.

A quad core cpu matched with a 2070 at 1080p, you are going to be cpu bound in many modern games. Quad core even a strong overclocker like the 6600k is minimum recommended these days, it’s entry level and similar to the latest i3 8350k.

Usually around 80%
I was considering getting an i7 9700k

It’s usually just the games that use it, everything else is 1 or less %

I oc it slightly and that seemed to boost performance, however, I’m going to upgrade my cpu

I wasn’t paying attention to what the subject was, I completely forgot about that benchmark! I didn’t have anything running during the benchmark but when I do open up task manager with no games, my cpu usage is around 15 / 20%
