I recently upgraded my graphics card from a gtx 970 to an rtx 2070, and have seen a big jump in performance.
However, it's not as big of a jump than I expected. My system is about 15 fps behind an identical system on average.
I've been testing Far Cry 5, and I get an average of 84 fps on Ultra at 1080p, while an almost identical system is getting about 98-100 on average at the same settings. It's not much different for other games.
It seems my fps is more akin to the 1440p performance when I am playing at 1080.
This has been annoying me for the past few weeks, and i have yet to find a solution. My drivers are up to date, and ive reinstalled windows
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
