Hey guys so i just upgraded to a new rtx 2070 super asus evo dual fan.Boost clock i think is 1800 mhz.My friend has an rtx 2070 gaming z with 1830 boost clock and he has about the same clock speeds and fps with me sometimes even higher fps in games like black ops 4.Could it be my older system with i7 4790 and some old ddr3 ram thats holding my gpu back or is his custom card really faster than mine which is kinda wierd cause i thought 2070s was faster than 2070.I have already ordered 3700x ryzen and 3200 mhz ram waiting for them to arrive.Oh also i think his cpu is an i5 6600k or something like that with 3200 ram.

Solution
All else being equal, a 2070 Super will outperform a 2070.... Pretty much 2080 performance.

Depending on the title(s) in question, your older CPU might limit it a little, but shouldn't be too often.
20xx cards will boost on their own, within defined voltage/power/temperature targets -- So, for example, if your 2070S is hitting, say 85C and your friends 2070 is staying <70C it may well b boosting higher.

Not enough information to definitively state at this point. Full system specs, OS, driver etc and games being played (along with CPU/GPU/RAM utilization) would help...
