[SOLVED] RTX 2080 and GTX 1080 in same gaming rig

Hello,

Just a sanity check: I have a gaming rig with RTX 2080, which works fine for me. Out of blue, got used GTX 1080. Does it make sense to stick it into the rig and use it to increase gaming performance? It's clear that it will not be SLI setup, but would I gain any performance benefits? Say, by setting 1080 as a physics processor or some other use? Not interested in a multi-monitor setup.

Thank you,
AM

Solution
No it doesn't... not even SLI does anymore. The only way I could think of using 2 different GPUs is by setting one as the PhysX card, but that's just silly let's be real. Setting a multi GPU mining rig, might be another use.

So, increased gaming performance = definitely no... more $$$ on your power bill = definitely yes.
