Hey guys, I'm buying the RTX 2080 MSI Gaming X Trio this week but I saw some reviews about power balancing and some other stuff so I got worried. I also checked thier Twitter post. Is it safe to buy that card or what? I'm talking about the MSI Gaming X Trio 2080, not 2080ti. I hope this is false because I'm going to buy it soon! Thanks. Sorry for the 2 posts. I'm just in rush :/

I don't have the Trio, but I have the MSI RTX 2080 Duke OC. And I am very happy with it. I think you should be fine with the Gaming X Trio. I believe it very similar to the Duke. Just the cooling is a bit more massive and the cards is thicker. It also has an increased power limit. Means you might get a little bit longer boost clocks before the power limit causes it to throttle down a little. But in the end of the day there will not be too much difference. In terms of heat, noise Duke and Gaming X Trio are very similar according to reviews. But I am very happy with the cards. You will not go wrong with either MSI cards. They make good products.

The Gaming X Trio and the Strix are the top line RTX cards from MSI and ASUS right now. I usually prefer MSI....but that's just me. I actually decided to not go with the Gaming X Trio, but for the MSI RTX 2080 Duke. Reason are: almost no difference in actual performance, according test they run at same temps and noise levels, the Duke looks go, is thinner and lighter than the Trio, which keeps my rig a little airier. And any performance difference might be a frame or two...so whats the point.
