Hi there,

My ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Gaming Advanced 8 GB does not want to go lower than 22% fan speed. Disregarding manual curves from MSI Afterburner or GPU Tweak II.

There's a yellow dotted line at 22% fan speed.

The funny thing is that the ASUS website says that this model has 0db Technology and doesn't turn on the fans until it reaches 55 centigrade.

But it seems there's a hardcoded minimum fan speed in this card's bios that no software can overrule. That is 22% minimum. It starts spinning as soon as the card gets energy.

How can I remove this ridiculous yellow dotted line and 22% mandatory fan even on idle? I want it to never spin fans until it reaches 50 degrees (As advertised on their website)

Solution
If you let the video card handle fan speed, does it actually stop the fans? If so, it may be that the firmware doesn't let manual/custom control go lower than 22%.
