Hello, friend of mine is building pc and he needs GPU, and we talked about selling my " Asus Rog strix GTX 1080 " for 460 Dollars, I think its good deal, but then again, I`m thinking what should i buy now? RTX 2080 is like 22% faster then 1080, but does it really that good? , then i was looking at RTX 2080 Ti, but oh man, the Price is insane. I have only 1080p 144hz. In future planning for 1440p.

Also for powersupply, i was thinking swaping " SeaSonic Prime Platinum 750W" , cause my RM650x is making CoilWhine noise for long time.

PC Is mainly for gaming , like Triple AAA+ , and for Future proofing.

So right now im looking at

ASUS ROG STRIX 2080 O8GB
ASUS ROG STRIX 2080 Ti O11GB

or just dont sell my ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080

PC SPECS:

i7-8700K
ASUS Z370-E
16GB @3200Mhz
2TB @ 7200rpm
500GB SSD
CORSAIR RM650x

I'd keep the GTX 1080 since for 1080p gaming, it's more than enough. It's also more than enough for 1440p gaming. Though, if you were to game on 4K, only then RTX 2080 (Ti) would give you noticeable performance upgrade.

On PSU side, Seasonic PRIME 750 (80+ Platinum) is the 2nd best 750W PSU in the world you could go. Best being the PRIME 80+ Titanium series. So, (y) on PSU choice.
If you want you can keep the GTX 1080, though obviously the RTX card is faster. It depends on what you expect from your RIG. Are you satisfied with the current performance in Games ?

IF yes, then keep the GTX 1080, and upgrade next year. Else, buy the RTX 2080 GPU. The RTX 2080 Ti is even more faster than your current GPU, but this card is having a bad price/performance ratio. It is expensive !

But, the Ti variant is going to be slightly more future-proof though, if you plan to upgrade to 4K in near future..

You're welcome.

Also, welcome to the PRIME family! :D

Btw, PSUs in my builds are:
Skylake: Seasonic PRIME 650 (80+ Titanium)
Haswell: Seasonic M12II-850 EVO (80+ Bronze) <- will upgrade that in near future
AMD: Seasonic Focus+ 550 (80+ Platinum) <- had Seasonic S12II-520 (80+ Bronze) before upgrade

Full specs with pics in my sig.
