Hello all. I am currently thinking about upgrading my GPU. I currently have the MSI RTX 2080 X TRIO 8GB.

my overall specs are
i5 12600k
RTX 2080 MSI TRIO
32GB DDR4 3600
32in 1440p 144hz monitor
750W PSU

Is it worth it to upgrade my gpu to an rtx 3080? I can currently get a barely used one for $800 from a friend. It is the MSI RTX 3080 Gaming Z trio 10G.
I plan on selling my 2080 on ebay, which i see mine selling from 400-500. So im looking at $400-500 for a RTX 3080 upgrade.

What do you guys think?

Ive been playing games like call of duty, death stranding, hell let loose, dying light 2, red dead redemption 2, etc.

Yeah, 'worth it' is a personal thing. Up to you.

That aside, you need to be more specific about '750w psu'. That doesn't slide with how bad the upper end RTX 30 gpus are with their power spikes.
You need to include the make, model, and how long it's been in use... because on top of the $800, you might have to buy another psu to be able to avoid power related crashes.

My psu is a
EVGA 210-GQ-0750-V1 750 GQ, 80+ GOLD 750W

it is about a year old. This was a gift to me. I do not mind upgrading the psu if I need to.

you think i need to upgrade to an 850W?
I got a 1200W, knowing i would only ever use about 600-800 of it. I'm putting a lot of really expensive equipment in my case. The difference between a budget and a high end psu is around $89 vs $450. I'll gladly spend an extra $300 to power my $1,000 CPU, $1,100 GPU, $1,000 RAM, $400 mobo... you get the idea. Dollars add up quickly with many components but a pretty high end PSU doens't even have a comma in it. Almost everything else does lol.
