Hi,

My new rtx 2080ti gets up to 80-85 degrees in for example mordhau and some vr games and goes to 88 when using OC. Is this normal? I read that it can't really do much harm but still wondering.

Solution
however, the people who pre built it have put it the other way around, so the two big AIO fans are pushing air out of the case, not in. Should / can I just turn it around?
Oh, for the love of -!
How do these guys have jobs?!

Yes, please flip those fans around. They should be blowing air INTO the case.

Gpu thermal throttling.
What is the specific model?

What is the case? Vertical mount? Horizontal mount?

How is the airflow set up in the case?

~Yeah, no.
Over 85C for extended periods isn't good for any of these gpus. Plus, you can't get the full performance out of the gpu if it's in thermal throttle territory.

It's the gigabyte rtx 2080ti gaming OC, horizontal mount (is vertical a thing?). The case is cooler master master box mb511. Came with 1 fan on the back and I have a cpu all in one water cooler so that has 2 big fans as well. I do have an extra fan which I bought just in case so I might as well install thst and see if it improves.

Z62? There's X62 and Z63...

At the moment, I think your front intake is too weak.
The 280mm's fans are having to move air though 2 different obstacles(front panel + rad), and the incoming air pressure towards the gpu, is either too weak, or there's none present at all.

Since the case does not support top mounted 280s, it's stuck there. You need more case fans so you can push-pull through both the front mesh panel and the radiator.

I got a 120mm fan that I'm about to install. Should I make it blow air into the pc or out?

Intake.
If you can do:
Radiator fans | Radiator |Case mounting frame| Case fan (mid) | Case front panel
Then do so.
If you were to mount the fan at the bottom, I feel most of the air would travel beneath the psu shroud, and it would never get to the gpu.

Make sure the fans are blowing air into the case.

I have two spots on the top of the case so I guess I'll use that! So I'm very much a noob when it comes to installing fans. The fan has a wire with 3 openings on it, that goes on the mobo right? But it also came with another cable which on the one side has a small 2 pin thing and the other side a molex connector and a similar looking 4 piece thing. So sorry for my horrible explanation. I googled how to install it but couldn't find it anywhere. Got any clue?

From what I'm reading on the product page, that only supports 120 and 240mm radiators...

Can you post the fan's model info? It's usually printed on the back(grille side).

Don't take my word for it yet, but I think the 2 pin piece is an RGB power connection. I remember the NZXT case fans I bought for my old Phantom 820 having those. The case had 2 pin plugs specifically for them.
The molex, I'm not sure at all what it's for.
The other 4 piece thing, does it have an arrow on it? Then that's would be another RGB power connector.

So I finally installed the fan. However, the temps haven't changed at all. So that's quite odd. I installed it on the top 120mm slot. Might need to buy another one to place next to it.

I said to try installing in the middle slot. The bottom slot has the fan directed to go under the psu shroud, and top is pushing towards the cpu cooler - the gpu isn't up there.
The thing is, there's no room in the middle since on the front there's this big AIO fan and at thr back there's the standard one. So I don't have any other spots left.

So I removed my side panel just to test, and the temps have reduced by 10-13 degrees so there's definitely very bad airflow going on. I googled it and supposedly it's not a very bad idea, I'm just gonna close it whenever I'm not using the pc to protect against dust.

So a push-pull isn't possible in the front of your case like it is in the one below?
photo_2018-06-14_19-25-24.jpg

You may not be able to see it too well, but the front radiator is 'sandwiched' between the case fans and the rad's own fans.
That looks a lot like my fan order. I also have the stock fan left and the AIO fans right, however, the people who pre built it have put it the other way around, so the two big AIO fans are pushing air out of the case, not in. Should / can I just turn it around? Since there's these big tubes in them and it looks like it wouldn't work thr other way around.

Haha, I was ready wondering why there was so much hot air coming out of the front of the case. But since I don't know a lot aboht that, I just assumed it was okay. So about the big heat pipes that are connected to them, won't they sit very awkwardly if I just turn it around? Cause right now they're sitting fine but if I turn it around, I don't know if they might have an awkward angle or something.
