Question RTX 2080TI - Bottleneck Possibilities?

Im just curious if im going to be running into any bottleneck issues with the RTX 2080TI (Had to purchase it as the price was a steal)



Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
Intel Core I7 5820k @ 4.4ghz
ASUS X99-A Mobo
RTX 2080TI + Ocool Waterblock Cooler
500gb Samsung SSD 840 Evo
8gb Miicron DDR4 Ram @ 2133MHz (I'd imagine this is where im going to hit a bottleneck? Speccy pulls this up as Single Channel 8bg @ 1068 MHz) however task manager puills it up at 2133MHz

Depends on desired fps/resolution, i'd suggest that >100fps you'll struggle with the CPU, but if you want to go to 4k the GPU will be the constraint. People get too hung up on bottlenecks.

Appreciate the quick reply, I'm lookinjg at playing at 1440p as I have just swapped my 240hz 1080p monitor for a 1440p 165hz with GSync, would i be looking at a bottleneck @ 1440p, and finally I know it seems a dumb question would i see any different between running 4k and 1440p other than the frame rate? or would it just be silly to try 4k on a 2k monitor [Obviously i know i won't get 4k, but wondering if it would compliment 2k in anyway]

There is always a bottleneck, period. So I really would not be concerned unless it means that you've overspent massively.

The question is can that CPU push 165fps? I doubt it. Can the GPu push 1440p165, quite possibly.

You're going to get what you are going to get, you got a good deal on the 2080ti, so although your CPU might be as limited as if you were on a 2070/208, so what?

Yes the deal I got is incredible imho, not too much more than a 1080ti, (The price of a brand new 1080ti in some cases) will the ram be a issue? i am eventually going to update just wondering fi im going to have to bite the bullet earlier as i heard ram prices are due to drop till around june / july

8GB is not great, and you will hit problems with that. Good news is it's DDR4, so it won't be wasted. I'd just get a 16Gb pack, see if you can get all 24Gb to work, and sell the 8 if you can't.

You only ever need to upgrade when it doesn't do what you want it to do, not because of 'imbalances'.
