Hello all,

I have been doing some research - though would like to know opinions and/or answers for those who actually have a similar setup.

I currently have an Acer Predator x34 34 inch UltraWide Monitor, 1440p @ 100mhz.

I am running it with a founders edition Gtx 1080 8gb.

I want to make the jump to actually play games close to ultra on my monitor, games such as Division, Division, 2, Anthem, Battlefield etc etc.- Which I currently have to run at medium to high settings depending on the game.

Would the Rtx 2080ti be enough to push the fps of these games well over 100 @ 1440p? or should I sit tight and just wait for the next card releases.

Cheers.

Solution
Right now the RTX 2080ti is the fasted gaming GPU but it's also pretty expensive. If you need more fps performance than what you already have, I don't think you have any other option. You can also consider getting an RTX 2080 (it's about 35% faster than the GTX 1080) and it'll give you the ability to reach the performance level you currently want, but I don't think it's worth spending that much money for this medium performance increase. If you had a weaker GPU the RTX 2080 would be the logical choice.

Currently the RXT 2080ti is considered a 4K (with maxed settings) card, while the 2080 is a 4K (with medium settings) or 1440p (maxed settings) GPU. Alternatively you can also wait but there will probably be at least one year until...

Good luck.

Solution
Ultrawides change the game, considerably more pixels than standard 16:9. I'd not opt for the RTX2080, while an excellent 1440p choice, that's at 2560x1440, not 3440x1440. You'd be far better served, regrets on the price difference, by a RTX2080ti
